Coaching for writers
Are you a writer trying to establish your process? Are blocks and internal critics getting in the way? Do you struggle to find meaning in your work under the demands of publishing?
For writers, it’s easy to feel like we’re never doing enough. Capitalism tells us we’re always behind, raising the stakes to the point where the simple act of making something feels near-impossible. Together, we’ll work to identify where you’re feeling stuck, and collaborate on finding solutions together.
Coaching is for writers who need support:
Completing a large project on a given deadline
Finding accountability methods that work for you
Coping with rejection
Returning to your writing practice after a break
Making art in times of heightened political violence
Navigating the stress of being of a debut author
Virtual sessions are 45 minutes, meeting either biweekly or monthly. Coaching is open to anyone located in the US or internationally.
I offer coaching on a sliding scale. In order to keep my practice sustainable, I have a limited number of spots at each tier. If you’re not sure where you fall, please refer to Resource Generation’s class privilege questionnaire and Alexis J. Cunningham’s Green Bottle Sliding Scale.

Emotion-focused revision
Sometimes a piece of writing isn’t working because we’re coming up against a challenging emotion, experience, or critical voice. Maybe you received feedback in a workshop, but walked away overwhelmed with conflicting ideas. Maybe the story is asking you to confront a version of yourself that you’d rather leave off the page.
Every piece of writing asks something different of us, if we’re willing to listen. In this offering, I’ll invite you to pay attention to the emotions of revision, with the belief that our writing improves when we learn how to be present with the work. You’ll walk away with new ways to approach the project, and a set of tools to tackle revision on future projects, too.
What does this look like?
We’ll meet at least once to talk through the piece. We’ll clarify where you’re feeling stuck, the type of feedback you want, and how you like to receive feedback. You’ll send me the essay, chapter, story, or manuscript. I’ll read, providing both in-line notes and an editorial letter. We’ll meet to discuss the feedback together, slowing down the revision process to focus on the emotions that come up, using them as our guide.
Pricing depends on the project, starting at $200/project. Please reach out for a free consultation to discuss.
